Odisha government to release September salaries in advance for government employees

Bhubaneswar (24/09/2025): The Odisha government has decided to release September salaries in advance for all state government employees ahead of Durga Puja.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed that the salaries be credited on September 26, 2025. Normally, salaries are paid on the last working day of the month.

However, with state government offices closing from September 27 for the Durga Puja holidays, the salary date has been advanced. Durga Puja mark a major festive shopping period.

This year, the celebrations coincide with the nationwide “Savings Festival” following GST 2.0 reforms.

Taking this into consideration, the Chief Minister has ordered early disbursement to support employees and their families during the festive season.
