
Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar joins ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ Campaign to promote women’s health and family wellbeing
Bhubaneswar (25/09/2025): In a committed stride towards promoting women’s health and strengthening family wellbeing, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has actively joined the nationwide initiative “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan”.It is a flagship campaign led by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, in convergence with Poshan Maah 2025.The campaign started from 17 September and will continue till 2 October, culminating on Gandhi Jayanti, with the vision of building healthier families through empowered women. As part of the initiative, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has been conducting a wide range of free health camps and awareness sessions, both within the hospital and in collaboration with educational institutions, women’s clubs, and community forums across the city.The campaign focuses on providing preventive health screenings in areas such as gynecology, dentistry, ophthalmology, and general medicine.In addition, the hospital is leading community-focused awareness sessions on mental health, pediatric care, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and essential self-care practices.These sessions are designed to address the holistic health needs of women and their families. The response has been encouraging, with over 100 women benefitting every day from comprehensive health check-ups and specialist consultations at the hospital premises.The hospital’s outreach efforts are also making a significant impact beyond its walls by ensuring access to vital healthcare services for women across diverse communities in Bhubaneswar. Speaking about the campaign, Dr.Saktimaya Mohapatra, Cluster Director, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, said, "A healthy woman is the foundation of a strong family and a thriving community.At Manipal Hospitals, we are proud to support the nationwide movement that emphasizes early detection, preventive care, and health education for women.Through this initiative, we aim to bring healthcare closer to the community and empower women to take charge of their well-being." The “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” also aligns with the Government's broader health goals, focusing on critical areas such as anemia screening, cancer detection, maternal and child health, immunization, and TB and Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) awareness.The campaign encourages convergence with key government programs like Poshan Maah, Nikshay Mitra Drive, and National Voluntary Blood Donation initiatives. Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, as a leading tertiary care center in the region, has responded to the Ministry’s call for active private sector participation, reinforcing the goal of ‘Jan Andolan’ (people’s movement) for universal health.
