Tight security in Puri for Kartik Purnima, 45 platoons deployed for Suna Besha

Puri(04/11/2025): Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in Puri for the Kartik Purnima celebrations, with 45 platoons of police personnel to be deployed to manage the large influx of devotees and ensure smooth darshan during the ‘Suna Besha’ of Lord Jagannath. Barricading has been extended up to Nayak Plaza Square, while a no-vehicle zone will be enforced from Medical Square to facilitate crowd movement.

Two ODRAF teams along with lifeguards will be stationed near the sea and holy ponds as a precautionary measure. Devotees will be allowed entry through the Singhadwara (main gate), while the other three temple gates will be used as exit routes, Puri SP Prateek Singh informed.
