Tiger skin worth Rs 30 lakh seized in Bhubaneswar; 3 arrested

Bhubaneswar(03/11/2025): In a major wildlife crime bust, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police seized a tiger skin worth Rs 30 lakh and arrested three persons from Jayadev Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Monday. The tiger was killed in another state, and its skin was smuggled into Odisha for illegal trade. The accused were allegedly planning to sell the tiger skin to potential buyers when they were nabbed.

The STF has registered a case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and further investigation is underway to identify other members of the trafficking network.
